Spring onion ( irulli kaavu) gojju

 


Ingredients

Chopped spring onions ( irulli kaavu)—2 cups

Roasted til seeds (yellu// sesame seeds)— 1 tablespoon 
Grated  fresh coconut ( kayi turi //nariyal)—1/2 cup
Dry red chillies (ona  menasina kayi//lal mirch)—3 to 4 or green chillies 
Hurigadale (roasted gram)—3 tablespoon 
Hunase hannu ( tamarind//imli) soaked in water—small lemon sized 
Sasive ( mustard seeds//rai)—1 teaspoon 
Jaggery powder ( Bella//gud)—1 tablespoon 
Salt—to taste

Oil—3 tablespoon
Sasive ( mustard seeds//rai)—1 teaspoon 
Jeera ( jeerige//cumin seeds)—1 teaspoon 
Hing( asafoetida//ingu )—1 teaspoon 
Curry  leaves ( karibevu//kadipatta)—few
Haldi (turmeric powder//arisina)—1/2 teaspoon

Method 

Firstly grind coconut,hurigadale,red chillies,roasted yellu,tamarind,sasive in a mixer grinder jar to a smooth paste by adding sufficient water.
Keep it ready.

Then heat oil in a pan or kadai,add sasive,jeera,hing,when it crackles add in karibevu on medium heat.

Next add chopped spring onions and saute for few minutes,and then add little water.add turmeric powder mix well.

When spring onions turns soft,add in ground masala paste mix well.
Add salt and jaggery powder.
Add little water to adjust the consistency of gojju.

Let it boil well.
Gojju is ready to serve.


Serve delicious gojju with rice,chapathis,roti.
