Sihi genasina ( sweet potato) rotti

 


Ingredients

Sihi genasu( sweet potato)—2 boiled 
Rice flour (akki hittu )—1 1/2 cups
Rave (sooji//semolina)—1/4 cup
Fresh grated coconut ( kayi turi//nariyal)—1 tablespoon 
Jeera (jeerige//cumin seeds)—1 tablespoon 
Salt—to taste
Chopped coriander leaves ( kothambari soppu)—1 tablespoon chopped 

Oil—to make rotti

Method 

Wash and boil sihi genasu and peel the skin.
Take all the ingredients except oil in a bowl  mix well together and knead to a smooth dough.( like akki rotti )
Cover and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes.

Now to prepare rotti 

Take a big lemon sized dough,place in the centre of tava or skillet and spread it gently to make a thin circle by wetting hand in water.
Now make a hole in the centre and few more around the rotti.
Pour oil in holes and around edges of rotti.

Cover with a lid and place on the stove on medium flame.
Let it cook till it becomes brown in colour.

Remove from the tava and serve with chutney or pickle,curd.
