Oats besan utthapam ( dosa)

 


Ingredients

Oats—2 cup
Water—3 cups to soak oats
Besan (kadale hittu//gram flour)—1 cup

Onion (irulli//pyaz)—2 medium sized 
Tomato—2 medium sized
Carrot—1 grated
Coriander leaves (kothambari soppu//hara dhaniya)—2 to 3 tablespoon chopped 
Green chilli (hari  mirch//hasiru menasina kayi)—1
Ginger (shunti//adarak)—small piece 

Jeera (jeerige//cumin seeds)—1 teaspoon 
Hing (asafoetida//ingu)—1/2 teaspoon 
Arisina (turmeric powder//haldi)—1 teaspoon 
Red chilli powder—1/2 teaspoon 
 Black pepper powder—1/2 teaspoon 
Salt—to taste
oil—for making dosa
Water.

Method 

Firstly soak oats in warm water for 10 minutes ( or even you can powder it in mixer grinder jar).
Cover with a lid and keep it aside.


Finely chop onions,tomatoes,chilli.

After10 minutes the mixture would appear thicker as oats will absorb water.
Mix soaked oats in a laddle,add all the other ingredients except oil and mix well together.
You can add little water to adjust the consistency of batter.
The batter should be like spreading consistency ( do not make watery ).

Next heat a nonstick pan or tava,pour a laddle full of batter into the centre of pan.
Spread the batter into circles.
Drizzle some oil around the edges and on dosa.
Cover and cook and flip once dosa turns brown.
Cook the other side.
Serve hot and delicious utthapam (dosa) with chutney,sauce of your choice.
