Turkish bread ( bazlama) on tava

 


Ingredients

Flour ( maida or wheat flour)— 4 cups
Warm milk—150 ml ( 5 fl oz)
Warm water—150 ml (5 fl oz)
Dry yeast—2 tablespoon 
Salt—1 teaspoon 
Oil—3 tablespoon 

Chopped parsley or coriander leaves 
Chilli flakes
Butter 

Method 

Take milk,water in a big mixing bowl.
Mix well.
Add yeast and whisk well together.
Add salt and flour and mix well until dough is formed.
The dough will be slightly sticky.
Then add oil and combine well together with your hands.
Knead the dough.
Cover the bowl with a cling wrap or plate and keep it aside for one hour.
After an hour the dough should have doubled in size.
Knead the dough again .

Mean while melt butter and add chilli flakes and chopped parsley and mix well together.

Make balls out of the dough.
Next sprinkle some dry flour on your kitchen slab or work place.
Roll out each ball into circles.using a rolling pin 

Pre heat the tava or nonstick pan,and place the rolled flat bread.

After 20 to 30 seconds you will see bubbles coming up.
At this point flip the flat bread and cook for another 30 seconds.
Flip the bread and it will start to puff up. Or cook till you see brown spots on bread.

Brush each hot bread with butter mixture on top.

Delicious fluffy,soft bread is ready to serve.
Serve with any curry and raita  of your choice.
