Apple pie
Ingredients
Green apple—6 to 7
Unsalted butter— 1/2 tablespoon ( 8 gms)
Corn flour—11/2 tablespoon
Sugar —2 cups
Cinnamon powder (dalchini)—1 teaspoon
Great value (brand name) pie dish( crust) or any brand—2
Ice cream (optional)
Method
Pre heat oven to 375 F ( 190 C)
Prick pie dish with a fork.
Keep the pie dish to bake just for 5 minutes.
Remove from oven and let it cool completely.
Next heat butter in a pan on low flame.
Once the butter melts, add corn flour stirring continuously.
Add in sugar and stir occasionally.
Let it simmer to reach caramel consistency.
Remove from flame and keep it aside to cool completely.
Wash and peel the apples.
Chop into thin slices or small cubes.
Add cinnamon powder and mix well.
Next pour the butter corn flour sugar sauce over the chopped apple slices.
Mix well together completely.
Spread the apple mixture on one of the pie shell evenly.
Cover with another pie shell and seal the edges.
Make few small cuts on covering pie shell.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until you see the apple sauce oozing out and it turns to light brown in colour.
Take out and let it cool.
Slice and enjoy with ice cream.
