Kharbuja hannina ( musk melon) sajjige
Ingredients
Kharbuja hannu ( musk melon//cantaloupe)—puree— 1 cup
Sugar—1 cup
Chiroti rave (fine sooji//semolina )—1 cup
Ghee (tuppa)—3 to 4 tablespoon
Drakshi ( raisins//kishmish)—2 tablespoon
Godambi ( kaju//cashew nuts)—2 tablespoon
Cardamom pods ( ellaki//elaichi)—4
Cloves (lavanga)—3 to 4
Saffron strands (kesar//kesari)—1 pinch
Water—2 cups
Method
Wash the kharbuja fruit and cut into two halves.
Remove ( scoop) the seeds with a spoon .
Now chop the fruit with the help of knives and chop into cubes.
Transfer the cubes into the mixer grinder jar or blender and blend to fine purée.
Take a pan or kadai,add one tablespoon of ghee,add in drakshi and godambi.
Fry on low medium flame till raisins puffs up and cashews turns brown.
Remove to a plate and keep it aside.
Next take chiroti rave and cloves in the same pan,roast on medium flame until rava turns to light brown colour and nice aroma comes.
Side by side boil water in a pan.
Now add the hot water slowly to the fried rave by keeping the flame to low ,stirring continuously.
Keep stirring until no lumps are formed and rave is cooked well.
Now add sugar,fruit puree and mix well.
Next add ghee,saffron strands and cook for some time.
Add cardamom powder,fried drakshi and godambi and mix well together.
Once done switch off the flame.
Delicious kharbuja hannina sajjige is ready to serve.
