Halkova ( maida burfi)

 




Ingredients

Maida (all purpose flour)—1 cup
Ghee (tuppa)—1/2 cup
Sugar—3/4 cup
Cloves ( lavanga)—1
Cardamom pods ( ellaki//elaichi)—2

Method 

Powder sugar along with cardamom pods and cloves in a mixer grinder jar to fine powder.
Keep it ready.

Heat ghee in a nonstick pan or thick bottomed kadai.

When ghee melts,add maida and roast on low flame for about 7 to 8 minutes.
Continue to roast till ghee is absorbed by the maida and turns frothy.
Finally maida turns into smooth paste.

Switch off the stove.
Transfer to a bowl.
mix well with spatula. 
Wait till excess heat is reduced .

Take a parchment or butter paper and apply ghee on it.
Put that parchment paper into a tray or plate and keep it ready.

Finally add in the powdered sugar to the maida mixture gradually and start mixing.

Transfer the mixture to the tray and press and flatten making sure it is well set.
Refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes or leave on the counter to set completely.
After 15 minutes unmould the burfi and cut into pieces.
Tasty Halkova is ready which melts in mouth.
