Sihi Kuttavalakki ( sweet poha snack) travel food
Ingredients
Ghatti avalakki (thick poha//rice flakes)—1 cup
Grated dry coconut ( kobbari//copra)—1/2 cup
Jaggery powder (Bella//gud)—1/3 cup
Hurigadale (roasted gram//channa dhal roasted)—1/4 cup
Cardamom pods (ellaki//elaichi)—3
Ghee (tuppa)—1 teaspoon
Method
Firstly roast avalakki adding ghee in a pan on medium flame,stirring continuously and gently.
The avalakki need to become crisp and raw smell disappears .(you will hear cracking sound and it turns little whitish).
Some of them become light brown in colour.
Remove from flame and transfer to a plate to cool.
Now add grated dry coconut ,cardamom pods,hurigadale to the same pan and fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
Do not burn the coconut.
Switch off the stove.
Transfer to the same plate to cool.
Now transfer the cooled ingredients to the mixer grinder jar and blend to coarse powder.
Then add jaggery powder and blend again.
Do not make fine powder,let it be coarse .
Tasty Sihi Kuttavalakki is ready to serve.
Store in an airtight container.
You can eat it like snacks.
