Rave ganji ( sooji porridge)

 


Ingredients 

Chiroti rave (fine sooji//semolina//fine rava)—1 cup

Firstly dry roast the rave in a pan or kadai on low medium flame till it turns to light brown in colour stirring continuously.
Transfer to a plate and let it cool completely.
You can store it in an airtight container .
Keep it ready.

Ingredients for making one cup of ganji

Water—1 cup
Milk—3/4  cup  ( warm boiled)
Roasted rave—2 tablespoon 
Sugar—1 tablespoon 
Kesari (kesar //saffron strands)—few
Cloves (lavanga )—2 
Cardamom pods (ellaki//elaichi)—2

Method for preparing ganji

Powder cloves and cardamom to fine powder and keep it ready.

Take water in a pan or thick bottomed kadai,add two tablespoon of roasted rave and mix well.
Keep it on stove and cook on low flame stirring continuously.
Add kesari and stir .
When it starts thickening ,add sugar and stir well.
Then add milk ,let it boil for a minute or two.
Finally add powdered ellaki and lavanga powder..
Turn off the heat.
Serve hot ganji.

Note;; this rave ganji is healthy and easily digestible,hence given to  people with fever and new mothers after delivery ( child birth).
