Simple quick Carrot,tomato chutney

 


Ingredients 

Carrot—1 medium 
Tomatoes—2 medium sized 
Green chillies (hasiru menasina kayi//hari mirch)—2 to 3
Fresh grated coconut (kayi turi //nariyal)—1/2 cup
Ginger fresh (shunti//adarak)—small piece 
Salt—to taste.

Method 

Wash tomatoes and carrot.
Chop into pieces.
Now transfer all the ingredients to a mixer grinder jar and grind to smooth paste adding little water.(chutney consistency).
Transfer to a bowl.

Now prepare for seasoning (oggarane)

Oil or ghee —1 tablespoon 
Sasive (mustard seeds//rai)—1 teaspoon 
Uddina belle (urad dhal)—1 teaspoon 
Dry red chilli  (ona menasina kayi//lal mirch )—1 broken into pieces 
Asafoetida (hing//ingu)—1/2 teaspoon 
Curry leaves (karibevu//kadipatta)—few 

Heat oil in a laddle,once hot add sasive,uddina belle ,hing,red chillies,curry leaves.
When it splutters  pour over chutney and mix well.

Serve chutney with rice,dosa,chapattis,rotti.
