Passion fruit halwa ( halbai)

 





 

Ingredients 

Passion fruits—8
Corn flour—1 cup
Sugar—2 cups
Butter—6 tablespoon 
Water—2 cups ( for extracting juice) + 1 cup for sugar syrup 

Almonds ( badam ) and cashew nuts (godambi)—crushed or chopped— 2 tablespoons 

Method 

Remove the pulp from passion fruits.
Transfer to the mixer grinder jar,add one cup of water and blend  it.
Strain the juice and add one more of water to the pulp and blend again to extract juice.
Add corn flour to the extracted juice and whisk well so that no lumps are there.
Now take sugar in a thick bottomed kadai or nonstick pan.
Add one cup of water .
Start cooking on medium flame.
Cook till sugar dissolves completely and starts boiling.
Keep stirring continuously.
Now lower the flame,add in corn flour and passion fruit mixture.
Cook on low flame.
Stir on until the mixture starts to thicken slightly.
Keep stirring continuously until mixture turns thick and at this stage add butter.
Also add in crushed almonds and cashews,mix well.
Keep stirring until the mixture turns glossy and leaves the corners of the pan.
Cooking may take 10 to 12 minutes.
Pour the mixture into the greased tray and let it cool completely.
Now cut into pieces.
Enjoy delicious passion fruit  halwa.
