Left over rice idli
Ingredients
Left over rice ( cooked)—1 cup
Idli rava ( sooji //semolina )—1 cup ( you can add upma rava as well)
Curd ( mosaru//dahi)—1cup
Cooking soda—1/4 teaspoon
Salt— to taste
Water—as required
Method
Take cooked rice in a mixer grinder jar,add 1/2 cup of water and blend to a smooth paste.
Transfer the rice paste to a mixing bowl.
Now add idli rice rava,salt,soda,curd and mix well.
Cover with a lid and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Now again mix it well ( beat) add little water if required.
The batter should be thick ,don’t make the batter thin to avoid flat idlis.
It should be thicker than regular idli batter.
Now grease the idli plates and pour batter into idli moulds.
Place the idli plates in the steamer when water starts boiling.
Steam for 12 to 13 minutes on medium heat.
Once done remove the idli plates and let it cool for a while.
Take out the idlis and serve with chutney,sambar.
