Dasavala hoovina mosaru sasive ( hibiscus flower raita)
Ingredients
Dasavala hoovu (hibiscus flowers)—15 ( white or red)
Grated fresh coconut (kayi turi//nariyal)—1/2 cup
Sasive (mustard seeds//rai)—1/2 teaspoon
Thick curd(mosaru//dahi)—1 cup
Salt—to taste
Ingredients
Separate the petals from flowers,discard the green part.
Wash the petals and chop finely.
Grind grated coconut and sasive in a mixer grinder jar to a smooth paste adding sufficient water.
Take chopped petals,ground coconut mixture,salt,in a mixing bowl.
Add curd.
Mix well by squeezing the petals using hands,so that everything is combined well together.
Now prepare for seasoning (oggarane)
Take a laddle or small pan,heat one tablespoon of ghee,when it melts,add in one teaspoon of mustard seeds (sasive//rai),jeera (jeerige//cumin seeds),one broken dry red chilli.
When it crackles pour over mosaru sasive and mix well.
Serve with rice.
