Godhi hittina rotti (wheat flour rotti)
Ingredients
Godhi hittu( wheat flour//atta)—2 cups
Carrot grated—1 cup
Onion(irulli//pyaz) finely chopped —1 cup
Fresh grated coconut (kayi turi//nariyal)—1/4 cup
Green chillies (hasiru menasina kayi)—finely chopped—1
Grated ginger (shunti//adarak)—1 teaspoon
Chopped coriander leaves (kothambari soppu)—1/4 cup
Curry leaves (karibevu//kadipatta)—chopped—1 tablespoon
Jeera (jeerige//cumin seeds)—1 tablespoon
Om kaalu ( carom seeds//ajwain)—1/2 teaspoon
Salt —to taste
Method
In a mixing bowl take all the things listed for ingredients and mix well together.
Add water little by little and combine everything to a soft dough.
It will be a sticky dough.
There is no need to rest the dough,do it immediately.
Now take an orange sized dough and pat on a greased tava or nonstick tava evenly with your wet hands.( wet hands in between with water while patting).
Make 3 to 5 holes on rotti and drizzle some oil and around the edges and on holes.
Cook on medium flame covered with a lid.
Cook till it becomes slightly brown in colour.
Once done remove from tava.
Before making another rotti tava should be completely cool.
Serve the tasty rotti with chutney,curd,butter,pickle or chutney powder.
