Custard powder ice cream
Ingredients
Full cream milk—2 cups + 1/4 cup
Vanilla flavour custard powder—2 tablespoon
Sugar—3/4 cup
Fresh cream—1 cup( chilled) I have used Amul cream
Method
Mix together custard powder and 1/4 cup of milk .
Mixture has to be smooth without any lumps.
Now take 2 cups of milk in a pan and keep it for boiling on medium flame.
Keep stirring.
When it starts boiling add custard powder mixture slowly and stirring continuously.
Add sugar also.
Continue to boil until the mixture thickens.
Keep it aside and let it cool completely.
Now take the chilled cream in a bowl.
Using a electric beater,start beating.
Beat( whip) until stiff peaks appears.
Now pour the prepared custard to the whipped cream
( you can also whisk the custard to make it lump free)
Whip everything well together.
The mixture will be of thick pouring consistency.
Now transfer the mixture to a bowl or plastic container.
Cover with a aluminium foil or cling wrap.
Freeze until set.
You can take out the mixture after 2 hours and beat again for a smoother ice cream..it’s optional.
Note;;
You can also transfer the mixture into popsicle moulds.
Once set scoop the ice cream and garnish with chopped dry fruits like badam,pista,cashew nuts or tutti fruity.
