Karjurada gojju ( date fruit )


 Ingredients 

Karjura (khajoor//date fruits) seed less—1 cup
Jaggery powder (Bella//gud)—3 tablespoon 
Tamarind soaked in water (hunase hannu//imli)— small lemon size
Menasina pudi (rasam powder// saarina powder)—2 tablespoon 
Salt —to taste

Ingredients for seasoning (oggarane)

Oil—2 tablespoon 
Sasive (mustard seeds//rai)—1 teaspoon 
Jeera (jeerige//cumin seeds)—1 teaspoon 
Haldi (arisina//turmeric powder)—1 teaspoon 
Dry red chilli—1 
Curry leaves (karibevu//kadipatta)—few
Asafoetida (hing//ingu)—1 teaspoon 

Method for making gojju 

Wash and boil dates in a pan adding 1/2 cup of water on medium flame.
When it becomes soft switch off the heat.
Let it cool completely.
When cooled grind it to a smooth paste adding sufficient water.

Now heat oil in a pan or kadai,once’s hot enough add sasive,jeerige when it crackles hing,chillie broken ,karibevu,arisina.
Sauté for a second.
Immediately add in ground date paste,jaggery powder and rasam powder and mix well.
Add little water and salt.
Boil  it for a while.
This gojju is semi thick in consistency.

Now tasty karjurada gojju is ready.
Serve with rice,rotti,chapattis,phulka,dosa idli etc.
