Jeerige (jeera) thambuli

Ingredients 

Jeera (jeerige//cumin seeds)—2 tablespoon 
Black pepper corns (menasu kaalu)—2 tablespoon 
Kadale belle (channa dhal)—1 tablespoon 
Uddina belle (urad dhal)—1 tablespoon 
Ghee-1 teaspoon 

Fresh grated coconut (kayi turi)—1 cup
Thick curd( mosaru// dahi)—3 cups or as required 
Salt to taste 

Method 

Roast together jeerige,black pepper corns,kadale belle,uddina belle adding ghee in a pan on medium flame.
Roast till dhals turns to light brown colour and turns aromatic.
( do not burn the spices).
Switch off the heat.
Take out the pan out of heat and let it cool completely.
Transfer the ingredients to a mixer grinder jar and add grated coconut and grind together to a smooth paste adding sufficient water.
Do not add too much water.

Transfer to a bowl ,add salt and curd and mix well.

Now prepare for seasoning (oggarane)

Heat 1tablespoon of ghee in a laddle, once hot add 1 teaspoon Of sasive (mustard seeds), 1 tablespoon of jeerige (jeera//cumin seeds).1 teaspoon of asafoetida (hing//ingu).curry  leaves (karibevu//kadipatta)—few
When it stops spluttering pour over tambuli .mix well.

Now healthy delicious jeerige tambuli is ready .
Serve with rice.
