Sapada bhakshya ( Sathyanarayana prasada) sheera
Ingredients
Chiroti rave (fine sooji//semolina)—1/2 cup
Sugar—1/2 cup
Milk—1/2 cup
Water—1 cup
Ghee—1/2 cup
Banana fruit ( ripped)—1
Cashews nuts (godambi )—2 tablespoon
Raisins (drakshi)—2 tablespoon
Cardamom pods (ellaki//elaichi)—4
Cloves (lavanga)—6
Saffron strands (kesar//kesari)—1 pinch
Method
Keep all the ingredients ready.
Chop the cashew nuts to small pieces.
Powder the cardamoms.
Mash the banana.
Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a pan or kadai,and let it melt on low flame,fry both cashews and raisins.
Fry till raisins puffs up and cashews turns brown.
Take out to a plate and keep it aside.
To the same pan add half of the ghee ,add chiroti rave,cloves and fry rave on low flame stirring continuously till it turns light brown colour and it is fragrant.
Parallely boil the water in a different pan.
Once the rave turns light brown add boiling water slowly and cook on low flame .
Then add milk,saffron strands.and mashed banana and mix it thoroughly.
Ensure there are no lumps.
Then add sugar and rest of the ghee and keep stirring it for 2 to 3 minutes on low flame.
Finally add cardamom powder and fried cashews and raisins and mix well.
Switch off the stove.
Now tasty,delicious,divine sapada bhakshya is ready to serve.
