Mavina hannina seekarane( rasayana)
Ingredients
Ripe mango fresh fruit ( mavina hannu)—3
Jaggery powder (Bella//gud ) or sugar—1/2 cup
Saffron strands (kesar//kesari dala)—1 pinch soaked in 2 tablespoon of milk
Cardamom powder ( ellaki//elaichi powder)—1 tablespoon
Edible camphor ( pachha karpoora)—small pinch
Milk—1/4 cup
Method
Wash the mavina hannu.
Take a big bowl .
Cut the mavina hannu into slices and extract the pulp using a knife Or hand and squeeze out the pulp near the seed ( vaate)fully using your hands, and discard the seeds ( vaate) and peels(sippe).
The process seems little messy.
Now squeeze the pulp properly.
Now add in jaggery powder and cardamom powder,edible camphor,saffron and mix well .
Add milk .
Mix till everything Is blended well.
Now mavina hannina seekarane is ready.
You can serve immediately or chilled.
It’s normally served with akki rotti,chapattis,pooris and dosa,obbattu( holige).
Note ;; this is a easy, simple and tasty traditional dessert which is prepared during mango season.
There are many ways of preparing seekarane and this is one of the methods.
This is also called aam ras.
There is no specific measurement for this recipe,you can adjust jaggery and milk according to your taste and depends on sourness of fruits.
