Paddu (from left over idli batter)
Ingredients
Idli batter —2 cups
Onion finely chopped—1 cup
Green chillies( hasiru menasina kayi)—1 chopped finely
Ginger (shunti)-small piece grated
Curry leaves (karibevu//kadipatta)—2 tablespoon finely chopped
Coriander leaves ( kothambari soppu)—2 tablespoon finely chopped
Jeera(jeerige//cumin seeds)—1 tablespoon
Asafoetida ( hing// ingu)—1 teaspoon
Method
Combine all the above ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
Heat the paddu pan on medium flame pouring little oil in each of the moulds.
Pour a spoonful of prepared batter in each mould,upto 3/4 level.
Cover and cook for 5 to 6 minutes on medium low heat,until you see the sides slightly cooked.
You will see bubbles forming at the top of paddu.
Using a knife or butter knife flip the paddu .
Smear some more oil on each paddu.
Let it cook for few more minutes,till crisp and brown colour.
Once done remove each paddu to a plate.
Now paddus are ready to serve.
Serve with chutney,sauce or ketchup or sambar
