Mavina kayi gojju ( green mango )
Ingredients
Mavina kayi ( green mango)—1
Saarina pudi ( rasam powder)—1 tablespoon
Jaggery powder ( Bella//gud)—2 tablespoon
Water
Ingredients for seasoning (oggarane)
Oil-2 tablespoon
Sasive (mustard seeds)-1 teaspoon
Jeerige ( jeera//cumin seeds)—1 teaspoon
Menthya kaalu ( methi dana// fenugreek seeds)—1/2 teaspoon
Asafoetida ( hing//ingu)—1 teaspoon
Curry leaves (karibevu//kadipatta)—few
Arisina (turmeric powder//haldi)—1/2 teaspoon
Method
Wash the mavina kayi and peel the skin,and cut into cubes.
Heat oil in a kadai or pan,once’s hot enough add sasive,jeerige,menthya kaalu,hing,when they stop spluttering add karibevu and saute on medium flame.
Add in chopped mango pieces,arisina and saute.
Now add in 1/2 cup of water and saute for a minute.
Immediately add rasam powder and jaggery powder and let it cook on medium flame.
Don’t cook mavina kayi too much ,it should remain semi soft.
It takes 3 to 4 minutes to cook.
Now add in salt and mix well and cook for few more minutes.
Switch off the stove.
Now tangy mavina kayi gojju is ready.
Serve with rice.
