Tomato chapathi
Ingredients
Tomato—2 medium sized
Wheat flour (atta//godhi hittu)—2 cups
Red chilli powder—1 teaspoon
Roasted jeera powder( cumin //jeerige powder) —1 heaped teaspoon
Coriander powder ( kothambari bija powder)—1 heaped teaspoon
Garam masala powder—1 teaspoon
Ghee —1 teaspoon
Ajawain ( om // carom seeds)—1 teaspoon
Salt —to taste ( 1 flat teaspoon)
Water -as required
Oil—to roast chapattis
Method
Wash and cut the tomatoes into cubes.
Grind the tomatoes in a mixer jar to a fine paste( puree) without adding water.
In a wide mixing bowl take wheat flour,red chilli powder,jeera and coriander powder,garam masala powder,ajwain,salt,ghee and mix everything together well.
Now add in ground tomato puree to the dry wheat flour mix and start kneading adding required amount of water.
Knead well to make a soft dough.
Cover and keet it aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
Next divide the dough into equal parts and roll them into round circles with a rolling pin.
You can dust with wheat flour while rolling.
Heat the tava or skillet on medium heat and once’s hot enough,transfer the rolled chapathi on tava.
Cook the chapathi on one side brushing with little oil and after a few minutes flip them .
Cook the other side also brushing with oil.
When done remove and cook all the chapattis in the same way.
Now chapathi is ready to serve.
Serve with any curry of your choice or chutney.
