Kothambari bija coffee ( coriander seeds coffee)


Ingredients 

Kothambari bija ( dhania seeds // coriander seeds)—1 cup
 Cardamom pods ( ellaki//elaichi)—2 

Method 

Dry roast coriander seeds and cardamom pods for few minutes till you get nice aroma ( just warm it).
Make sure not to burn .just 2 minutes roasting on low flame is enough.
Transfer to a plate .
Let it cool.
Transfer to a mixer grinder jar and powder it coarsely.just pulse it.

Ingredients for making coffee 

Water—1 cup
Milk—1/2 cup( or more to your taste)
Jaggery powder—1 tablespoon 
Ground coriander powder—1 tablespoon 

Method 

Boil water in a pan,add jaggery powder.
Stir until jaggery powder melts .
Now add in coriander seeds powder and boil for 5 minutes on low  heat.

Add warm milk ( just to avoid curdling of milk).

Strain through a tea strainer and serve hot.

Healthy drink (kashaya)- is perfect to replace coffee and tea ,and is always good to have the coriander coffee hot.
