Jeerige coffee (jeera coffee)

Ingredients

Jeerige ( jeera //cumin seeds)—1/2 cup
Coriander seeds (dhania seeds//kothambari bija )—1 teaspoon 
Cardamom pods (ellaki//elaichi)—2

Method 

Dry roast jeerige,kothambari bija,and cardamoms on low flame till you get nice aroma ,or till you hear crackling sound and jeerige changes in colour lightly.
Make sure not to burn .

Transfer to a plate and let it cool completely.

Transfer to a mixer grinder jar and powder it corasely.

Ingredients for making coffee 


Water—1 1/4 cup
Milk—1/2 cup
Jaggery powder—1 tablespoon 
Ground jeerige powder—1 tablespoon 

Method

Boil water in a pan ,add jaggery powder.
Stir until jaggery powder melts.
Add in jeera seeds powder and boil for 4 to 5 minutes on low flame.

Add warm milk ( just to avoid curdling of milk).

Strain through a tea strainer and serve pipping hot.

This jeera coffee is perfect to replace coffee and tea.

It’s a traditional recipe from malnaadu and has many health benefits.
