Menthya dose( fenugreek seeds//methi dana dosa)
Ingredients
Raw rice —2 cupsMenthya kaalu ( fenugreek seeds)—1/4 cup
Avalakki ( poha//beaten rice flakes)—1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Water
Ghee
Method
Wash rice,menthya seeds,avalakki and soak in a container for 6 to 7 hours.
Transfer the soaked ingredients to a mixy jar and grind them to a smooth fine paste.
Add water as required while grinding.
Transfer the batter to a container and let it ferment overnight or for for 10 hours.
This batter needs more time to ferment.
After fermenting the batter is porous and thick.
In the morning to the fermented batter add salt, and add in required amount of water to adjust consistency.
The batter should be little thick than normal dosa batter,like set dosa batter.
Now heat the tava or skillet,grease it ,( if your using iron tava),pour a laddle full of batter and spread it in circles.
Close the lid and let it cook on medium flame,open the lid and drizzle ghee and flip the dosa.
Remove the dosa with a spatula and serve hot soft dosa with chutney.
