Instant nimbe hannina saaru( lemon juice rasam)
Ingredients
Water—4 cups
Lemon —1 or 2 or lemon juice —3 tablespoon
Jaggery ( Bella//gud)—2 small achhu or 2 tablespoon powder
Ghee- 1 tablespoon
Green chillies—1
Menasina pudi ( saaru pudi //rasam powder)—1 teaspoon recipe here
Mustard seeds ( sasive)—1 teaspoon
Jeera (jeerige//cumin seeds)—1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder (arisina//haldi)—1 teaspoon
Asafoetida ( hing//ingu)—1/2 teaspoon
Curry leaves (karibevu//kadipatta)—few
Coriander leaves ( kothambari soppu)—chopped —1 tablespoon
Salt to taste.
Method
Heat ghee in a pan on medium flame ,once hot enough add mustard seeds,jeera and asafoetida.
After it stops spluttering add slit green chillies,curry leaves,and turmeric powder.
Sauté till green chilli turns to light white colour.
Make the flame to low and add water slowly.mix well.
Add in rasam powder and jaggery.
Let it boil well for 5 minutes on medium heat.
Finally add salt and coriander leaves and boil for 2 more minutes.
Turn off the heat.
Now add squeezed lemon juice to the saaru ( rasam) and mix well.
Delicious saaru is ready .
Serve with hot rice or drink it like soup.
