Batani usli ( dry green peas usli)

Ingredients

Green dried peas( ona batani)—1 cup
 Fresh Coconut grated—1/2 cup
Green chillies—2 to 3
Lemon juice—1 tablespoon salt to taste
Curry leaves( karibevu //kadipatta)—few
Coriander leaves( kothambari soppu)- —1 tablespoon chopped

Oil—1 tablespoon
Mustard seeds (sasive)—1 teaspoon
Jeera (jeerige//cumin seeds)—1/2 teaspoon
Asafoetida (hing)—1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Sugar—1/2 teaspoon

Method 

Wash and soak dry batani in 2 to 3 cups of water overnight.
Once soaked well,drain the water and wash again and add fresh water and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
Once pressure is released drain water and keep it aside.

Note 

Green peas cooks fast and peas gets mushy.so even one whistle is enough.

Now heat oil in a pan or kadai ,once hot enough add mustard seeds and jeera,asafoetida.
When it stops spluttering add chopped green chillies,curry leaves and sauté for a while on low heat.

Now add in cooked and drained peas,stir well.
Add salt,sugar and grated coconut and mix well .
Simmer for few minutes.
Turn off the heat and add squeezed lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves.
Mix well.

Note

You can add little ginger if you like.
And also red chillies for seasoning 

Now green peas usli is ready to serve.
