Ambode

Ingredients

Channa dhal ( kadale bele)—2 cups
Green chillies—7 to 8 medium 
Grated coconut—1/2 cup 
Chopped coriander leaves ( kothambari soppu )—2 tablespoon 
Curry leaves ( karibevu//kadipatta)—2 tablespoon 
Ginger—small piece 
Asafoetida ( hing)— 1 tablespoon 
Salt to taste 


Oil for deep  frying 

Method 

Wash and soak  Kadale bele for 2 hours.
Drain the water  completely .

Now take all the ingredients except oil in a mixy jar or food processor jar and grind it to coarse mixture 
Remove it Into a bowl and mix  everything together evenly.
 
Make small lemon size balls out of mixture,by greasing your hand with oil.

Heat the oil in a kadai ,on medium flame.
To check whether oil is hot enough,put a small piece of the mixture into oil,and if it comes up to the top ,then oil is ready for frying.

Now take the balls and flatten with your greased hand .
 Put these in the oil ,and leave it for 3 to 4 minutes .
Now flip the ambodes over gently.
And also stir occasionally.
Once they become golden brown colour,remove and  transfer to a colander on a paper napkin or towel and allow excess oil to soak up.
Fry them on medium heat.

Now ambode is ready to serve.
