Akki Kadale bele payasa( chawal Channa dhal kheer)
Ingredients
Channa dhal ( kadale bele)—1 cupGrated coconut—1/2 to 1 cup
Rice—1/4 cup
Jaggery —2 cups
Ghasghase ( khaskhas //poppyseeds )—2 teaspoon
Cardamom pods—4
Cloves//lavanga—5 to 6
Kesari//kesar//saffron strands—a pinch
Raisins ( drakshi)—1 tablespoon
Cashews ( godambi)—1 tablespoon
Badam —8 to 10
Ghee—2 tablespoon
Method
Wash rice and dhal and pressure cook along with cloves and 1 teaspoon of ghee on medium flame for 3 whistles.
Grind together coconut,ghasghase,badam,cardamom together to a fine smooth paste.
Once pressure reduces open the lid ,mix the cooked rice,add jaggery and ground paste ,kesar and boil for few minutes.
Add more water if needed .
Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a laddle or pan ,once hot add cashews and raisins fry till cashews turn brown and raisins puffs up.
Add this to boiled payasa
Now payasa is ready to serve .serve hot or cold .
