Seeme akki uppittu ( sabbakki//sabudana Upma)


Ingredients 

Seeme akki (sabudana //sabbakki)—3 cups
Potatoes(aloo//alugedde)—4 medium 
Peanuts ( ground nut//kadale kayi bija)—1 cup
Grated coconut—1/2 cup
Green chillies—4 to 5
Curry leaves (karibevu//kadipatta)—few
Coriander leaves chopped( kothambari soppu)—1 tablespoon 
Oil—3 to 4 tablespoon 
Mustard seeds (sasive)—1/2 teaspoon 
Jeera (jeerige// cumin seeds)—1 tablespoon 
Sugar—1/2 teaspoon 
Salt to taste.
Lemon juice—1 tablespoon 

Method 

Wash and drain water from sabudana 
Add just enough water to soak sabudana and soak for 3 to 4 hours.
 You can soak them overnight to avoid hardness in the centre of sabudana,
Sabudana should be easily mashed up if you press.

Dry roast the peanuts and grind it to a coarse powder.

Remove the skin from potatoes and chopp them into small cubes.

Now heat the oil in a thick bottomed kadai or pan,once hot add mustard seeds and jeera and sauté till mustard splutters.
Then add in green chillies chopped and curry leaves on medium flame.
Add chopped potatoes and stir well,add 1/4 cup of water and cook covered till potatoes are cooked and soft.
Stir in between.
Now add soaked sabudana,ground peanuts powder,salt,sugar, and mix well.

Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on low heat 
Now add in grated coconut and  coriander leaves,lemon juice.
Mix it well and turn of the heat.
Seeme akki uppittu is ready to serve.
Serve hot .
