Rajma recipe

Ingredients 

Rajma( kidney beans)—1 cup
Onion—1 medium sized 
Tomatoes—2 medium sized 
Green chillies—2
Ginger—2 inches piece 
Garlic pods—4 to 5
Coriander powder—1 heaped teaspoon 
Jeera powder—1 teaspoon 
Red chilli powder-1/2 teaspoon 
Garam masala—1/2 teaspoon 
Turmeric powder—1/2 teaspoon 
Asafoetida/hing—1 teaspoon 
Sugar—1 teaspoon 
Salt to taste.
Curry leaves—few
 Coriander leaves—2 tablespoon chopped 
Oil —3 tablespoon 

Method 

Wash and soak rajma overnight or 7 to 8 ours.
Pressure cook on medium flame for 6 to7 whistles.

Mean while grind onion,tomatoes,ginger,garlic and green chillies in a mixer grinder to smooth paste without adding water.

Heat oil in a kadai or pan on medium flame .
Once’s hot enough add ground paste,turmeric powder,asafoetida  and sauté for 7 to 8 minutes.

Once done add  sugar,coriander,jeera,red chilli,garam masala powders and keep stirring till done.

Now take out the boiled  and pressure cooked rajma and salt   And 
add to the above masala .
Keep boiling,add the rajma cooked water to it to adjust consistency .
Let it boil for 5 minutes.
Now rajma is ready to serve
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve  with pooris,rotis,and hot cooked rice.

TIPS

Same method ingredients can be followed for chole,white peas,or mixed beans,moong bean,black eyed 

peas.
