Om pudi ( plain sev)

Ingredients 

Besan/gram flour (kadale hittu )—1 cup
Rice flour—2 tablespoon 
Om kaalu ( ajawain )—1 teaspoon 
Asafoetida(hing)-1/2 teaspoon 
Oil—3 tablespoon  for dough 
Salt— 1/2 teaspoon 
Oil to fry 

We also need chakli press.

Method 

 Crush or grind om in a mortar  to fine powder and sieve it.


Take a mixing bowl,add besan,rice flour,asafoetida,om powder ,salt and mix well .
Heat 3 teaspoon of oil in a laddle add to the flour and mix everything together well.
Then start adding little by little to knead it to a soft dough.
It's a sticky dough to touch.
 
Meanwhile heat the oil in a kadai on medium heat.
Grease the chakli press and place the kneaded dough in the press.

Once the oil is hot enough press the dough directly in to the hot oil in circular motion ,by turning heat to low.
Increase the flame to medium.
Once the bubbles stops flip it to the other side slowly.
Fry both the sides.
Remove it from kadai by using a perforated laddle and transfer to onto a paper towel.
Cool and store in air tight container.
