Chiroti rave Gul pavate ( fine sooji )
Ingredients
Chiroti rave ( semolina// fine sooji) —1 cup
Jaggery powder(Bella//gud)—1/2 cup
Grated fresh coconut— 1/2 cup
Pure ghee — 5 tablespoon
Milk and water together mixed —4 tablespoon each
Water__4 table spoon
Raisins (drakshi)—2 tablespoon
Cashews ( godambi) —2 tablespoon
Cardamom(ellaki//elaichi)— 5 to 6
Lavanga ( cloves)—3 to 4
Method
Powder cardamoms and lavanga .
Fry the cashews and raisins in a kadai adding 1 tablespoon of ghee on medium flame.
Fry till cashews turns to light brown and raisins puffs up. Keep aside.
Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in the same kadai on medium heat.
Add chiroti rave, roast it till it changes its color slightly .
Turn off the stove and transfer rave into a bowl .
To this hot rave add grated coconut and milk and water mix.
Mix well together and close with a lid and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Now in the same kadai take jaggery powder add 4 tablespoon of water and heat it on medium flame.
Let it boil till you get one string (thready) consistency .
Reduce the heat to sim or low and add roasted rave and coconut mix which was kept aside.
Keep stirring add ghee mix well.
Now add cardamom lavanga powder, fried raisins and cashews. Mix it well.
Now traditional gulpavate is ready to serve.
