Nugge kayi palya

Ingredients 

Nugge kayi—4.  ( drum sticks)

Onion—2 small
Tomatoes—2 medium
Coconut fresh grated—2 tablespoon 
Garlic—2 
Ginger —small piece 
Green chilli—1
Ground nuts ( peanuts//kadale kayi Bija)—2 tablespoon roasted and powdered.
Red chilli powder—1 teaspoon 
Jeera powder( jeerige pudi)—1 teaspoon 
Coriander powder( kothambari bija pudi)—1 teaspoon 
Turmeric powder( arisina haldi)—1/2 teaspoon 
Asafoetida ( hing)—1/2 teaspoon  
Salt to taste

Curry leaves( karibevu//kadipatta)—few

Coriander leaves( kothambari soppu)—1 tablespoon 

Oil—3 tablespoon.
Mustard seeds( sasive)—1 teaspoon 
Jeera( jeerige// cumin seeds)—1 teaspoon 

Method 

Finely chop onion and tomatoes.
Finely chop ginger and garlic too.

Heat oil in a pan or kadai on medium flame  ,once’s hot enough add mustard seeds,jeera,asafoetida.
When stops spluttering add curry leaves,turmeric.
Then add garlic and ginger , green chillies finely chopped  keep stirring,
Followed by add onions,fry until translucent.
Add in chopped tomatoes and keep frying on medium heat.until tomatoes are soft.
Add all spice powders like red chilli,jeera,coriander.

Finally add chopped drumsticks and 1 cup of water.
Add powdered ground nut powder,salt.
Mix well
Close the lid and allow to cook for 10 to 12 minutes on medium heat.or until drumsticks are cooked.
Add grated coconut and coriander leaves.mix well.
Serve with chapattis or hot rice.
