Menthya hittu gojju

Ingredients 

Menthya hittu—3 to 4 tablespoon ( 1/2 cup)
Water— 1 glass
Small lemon size tamarind soaked in water—
Jaggery -3 to 4 tablespoon 
Salt — a little 
Turmeric powder—1/4 teaspoon 

 For seasoning ( oggarane)

Oil—3 tablespoon 
Mustard seeds—1 teaspoon 
Jeera—1 teaspoon 
Red chillies—2 
Asafoetida—1/2 teaspoon 
Curry leaves—few 

Method 

In a bowl take 1/2 cup of water add the menthya hittu ,mix thoroughly to make sure there are no lumps..
  
Heat oil in a kadai ,once the oil gets hot add mustard seeds,jeera,asafoetida,curry leaves,and turmeric powder.,red chillies.
 Keep sautéing 
When its done and stops spluttering add tamarind juice and jaggery .mix well on medium heat .
And then finally add menthya hittu paste and keep stirring till you get gojju consistency.
Add just a small pinch of salt as menthya hittu already has salt.
Turn off the heat,

Serve hot with Pongal,idli dosa,rotti etc.


You can eat  menthya hittu  with  hot cooked rice along with pure ghee and lemon juice .
