Heere kayi sippe chutney ( ridge gourd)

Ingredients 

Peels  of heere kayi (sippe )—1 cup
Green chillies - 2 to 3
kadale belle ( channa dhal)—1 tablespoon
Curry leaves( karibevu// kadipatta)  - few
Asafoetida ( ingu//hing)— 1/2 teaspoon
Tamarind ( hunase hannu// imli)—a small piece
Jaggery powder ( Bella// gud)—1 teaspoon 
Salt to taste.
Fresh grated coconut — 1 cup

Method

Fry heere kayi sippe in 2 tablespoon of water for 2 to 3 minutes on medium heat . Let it cool

In a frying pan  take channa dhal , green chillies,curry leaves and asafoetida  fry till dhal turns to brown colour adding a teaspoon of oil,on medium heat.
Take out from heat.

Let it cool completely.

Then take heere kayi sippe,coconut,jaggery,tamarind,salt and fried masala ,in a mixer grinder jar  and grind it to chutney consistency adding a little water.

Then  season (oggarane )it.


Heat pure ghee in a laddle,once hot enough add a teaspoon of mustard seeds and jeera and asafoetida.

When it stops spluttering

Pour over chutney.mix well and serve
Serve with dosa,idli, rotti ,hot cooked rice.
