Gori kayi palya north Karnataka style

Ingredients

gori kayi ( cluster beans )- 1/4 kg

Toor dhal( togari belle// chick peas)—1/2 cup ( soaked in water for 1/2 hour
Green chillies— 3 to 4
Ginger(shunti)- small piece 
Curry leaves(karibevu// kadipatta)—few
Coriander leaves( kothambari soppu) -3 to 4 tablespoon 
Roasted ground nut powder( kadale kayi  bija// peanuts )- 3 tablespoon 
Fresh grated coconut- 2 tablespoon 

Salt to taste


Method 

Transfer ginger,green chillies,curry leaves,coriander leaves into a mixer grinder  jar and grind it  to  a coarse mixture without adding water.

Take oil in a pressure cooker and heat in medium flame add mustard seeds,jeera,turmeric and sauté 
When it stops spluttering add ground masala fry for 2 minutes and then add soaked toor dhal.( togari bele)
Keep stirring.for 3 more minutes.
Then add chopped and washed gorikayi keep stirring.
Finally add powdered ground nut powder ,fresh coconut,salt and add 1/4 cup of water close the  pressure cooker lid .
Cover and pressure cook for 1 or 2 whistle.



Once the pressure settles down open the cooker and mix well
 Now palya is ready .

Serve with rice,rotti, chapattis etc.
