Avalakki ( poha ) oggarane

Ingredients 

 Ghatti Avalakki—( poha)—2 cups

Onion— 2 medium 
Green chillies—3 to 4 
Lemon—1
Curry leaves(karibevu// kadipatta)— few
Coriander leaves chopped—( kothambari soppu)— 1 tablespoon 
Oil— 3 to 4 tablespoon 
Salt to taste
Fresh grated coconut—1/2 cup

For seasoning (oggarane)

Mustard seeds—( sasive)—1 teaspoon 
Jeerige (jeera // cumin seeds )—1 teaspoon 
Channa dhal(kadale belle)—1 tablespoon 
Urad dhal(uddina belle)—1 tablespoon 
Turmeric powder( arisina// haldi)— 1/4 teaspoon 

Method 

Wash and soak avalakki for 5 minutes just add  enough water to  immerse avalakki.
Otherwise it becomes too soft.
Finely chop onions,green chillies,coriander leaves.

Heat the oil in a pan or kadai on medium heat
Once hot add mustard seeds,jeera,after it splutters add channa dhal,urad dhal.

Once dhal turns brown add green chillies  curry leaves,onion, sauté for a while.
Now add turmeric powder mix it and add soaked avalakki mix it well on medium heat.

Add salt and a teaspoon of sugar  mix 
Finally add coconut,coriander leaves turn of the heat 
Mix everything together well.

Avalakki oggarane is ready to serve.
